Expectations

Coaching is not designed to provide quick fixes or simple answers to isolated spots. The biggest improvements come from developing a stronger thought process and applying that framework over time.

Database review is an important part of my coaching, but the goal is not to spend an entire session simply pointing out which stats are “too high” or “too low”.

Stats are a reflection of strategy, but they are interconnected. A single number won’t necessarily tell the full story. How stats stand relative to one another is key. Understanding the relationships between different decision points is what allows you to identify the source of a leak and make lasting improvements.

The goal is not just to correct singular mistakes or try to get a certain stat to match what is claimed optimal. It is to build a framework that allows you to analyze situations, adapt, and continue improving independently long after the coaching session ends.

FAQ

Do I need to be a professional poker player?

No. I work with professionals, aspiring professoinals, and highly motivated part-time players. Playing full time is not a requirement. But you should approach poker as a serious pursuit and be willing to put in the work outside coaching.

What formats do you coach?

My primary focus is NLHE MTTs. Including regular tournaments, PKOs, mystery KO, satellites. SNGs are less common than they once were, but if they are your primary format I can help there as well.

What happens after I submit an application?

I personally review each one to see if we’re a good fit. If it makes sense to work together I will follow up with the next steps for scheduling.

Do I need a large database or years of experience?

Not necessarily. I can identify meaningful patterns from relatively small samples and know where to look for most common leaks. With that said, a minimum I’d like to see 15-20k hands to work with if possible.

What happens during a coaching session?

Sessions are customized based on how you see fit, and/or as per my recommendation. This may include database review, hand reviews, tournament reviews of final tables or heads up, while working the overall theme of developing frameworks for improving decision making.

Do you use GTO Wizard or solver outputs during coaching?

Absolutely. Solver outputs are an important tool for understanding strategy. However, my goal is not to teach you to memorize solutions. I use theory to build intuition and a stronger decision-making framework, so you can adapt effectively in real games where opponents rarely differently.
